Question:

Can I be made to identify myself in order to make a public records request to the Police Department?
Answer:

No.  However, please bear in mind that if you choose not to provide contact information associated with your request, it may increase the amount of time it takes us to fill your request if we need clarification or payment or to notify you that your records request has been completed.

If you wish to make your request anonymously, please consider doing so on line via our public records system which will assign your request a number and permit communication with you via that assigned number without any of your personal information (name). Questions for clarification or cost estimates provided to you can then occur without any possibility of additional delay.
