Question:

How long will it take to receive records after making a public records request?
Answer:

While it is always the goal of the Pensacola Police Department to fill public records requests as quickly as possible, there is no specific number of days in which an agency must respond to a records request.

The law permits a reasonable time to locate, review, redact if needed and make copies of the requested records.   FS 119.07(1)(c) requires a “good faith” response which is defined as  making “reasonable efforts” to determine from others within our agency whether or not such a record exists and if it does where and how the record requested can be accessed for the requestor.
